Can one commit murder in his imagination and then take full responsibility, as if it were true? This befell a twenty-year-old student - the hero of an imaginative Polish film "The killing of the Aunt" presented at the beginning of the film Festival in San Remo. Orphaned since he was eleven, thus deprived of his mother's affection, the young man is tormented by possessive, "suffocating" love his aunt feels towards him; he has his mind on getting rid of her. He wishes to kill her by striking a blow with a hammer and then dismember her body, after which some limbs he'd burn and some put into different parcels and then send them by post. Unrepentant he even tells about his intentions to a priest explaining that would be a great consolation to him.
"The Killing of the Aunt" stands out among the present collection of Królikiewicz's film, even though we have already had a chance to see a couple of provocative, visually aggressive films by this eccentric maker.

About "The Killing of the Aunt"

Realized in black and white "Through and Through" makes quite an impression on the audience, thanks to the film's narration, so original and not without ingenious solutions.
...
A very good effort made by the director who joins an interesting tradition of the Polish cinema of recent years, which in includes him among such artists as Wajda, Polanski, Skolimowski, Zanussi, Kutz.
