"The mountain stands on" SUMMARY
the analysis of the film KAGEMUSHA The analysis of the film KAGEMUSHA, an epic work which develops into numerous sub-plots, achieves its concision and brilliance thanks to a fantastic, discerte selection.

The author focuses his attention on the first long take of the film when a disreputable thief is spared execution due to his physical resemblance to the lord of a warring clan, in order that the enemy might think not learn of the lord's death in battle, as well as on the final scene: the slaughter of the Takeda clan, when the whole flower of the power elite flees the field of battle, except for the pathetic double who goes willingly to a heroic death in an unequal battle.

In the book Kurosawa's style is being analysed. Some traces of syntheses are presented, those displayed in KAGEMUSHA at certain crossroads of influences of various civilizations, in order to create universality not only through form but also through philosophical reflection.

A cognitive offensive concentrated thus on the "framework" resulted in "subjugating the fortress" - in strong suggestion that recognition through similarity of the whole work will be possible, and at the same time will be prolific for the independant - mined and creative people.

Out of the books called the "Golden Series" which have been published so far - this particular example seems to be the most characteristic.
In some way, the author is a ventriloquist, imitating the manner of Kurosawa's sensing to such a degree that trough penetrating into the rhythm of the scenes being analysed, he introduces us to the philosophical secrets of the Master, without any pompousness and overfamiliarity.

The mountain stands on! The book confirms the genius of Akira Kurosawa, sometimes through magic incantantations, and other times with language of sports comentator.
